It’s hard to believe it’s almost 2 years since I built this kit. This was way back when I had just switched to lacquers and was still learning the properties of the paint. Since I’m looking to go through my photography backlog very soon, I felt this guy was well overdue for a photoshoot, so here he is finally.
This was also one of the last few times that I used a black / white highlight base for red, as I felt that it was too shadowy compared to the rest of the other colours which are just highlighted with extra white. It doesn’t look too bad in these shots though, and I may reconsider going back to this technique in the future.

Action Pose
I did almost all of the action poses using a 24mm prime lens, which should give a better quality than the previous zoom lens I was using. Action shots benefit from the wide angle as weapons and limbs which are closer to the camera appear larger making the pose look far more dynamic. The only downside is that since the subject is much closer to the lens sometimes the camera itself would cast a shadow on the object.
Anyway despite looking kinda goofy in a standing pose, the GN Drive / Sword things on the shoulders give a really strong silhouette for some nice looking action poses.
